Word Count: 180 Prompt: Written for greeneyelove's starter sentence challenge from ages ago. ;) Characters: Dinah/Dick, Dick/Roy hinted Summary: Dick's tired of being alone, and Dinah's all he has left. On some level, even as he held her, he knew it was wrong, but she was there and he couldn't face another night alone. There had been too many nights alone since Roy had been taken from both their lives, and Dinah was the only one hurt enough by the loss of Roy that Dick could feel justified in turning to her for comfort. He was still using her - and he mentally apologized to Roy repeatedly for that transgression - but she was using him too, and that each of her caresses were desperate attempts to ease the pain of losing her boy-o was enough to ease Dick's conscience. He knew Dinah worried that Roy would have been heartbroken by what they were doing, but the Roy that Dick had known would understood that the two of them were helping to ease the other's pain. Dick believed that Roy would have been happy that his stubborn Robbie had finally stopped trying to push everyone away. Dick just wished it hadn't been a lesson he had learned far too late. | ||||||||
